CEREMONIAL Mr. Bud Coe of the Azusa Elks presented a trophy to the Mayor for all his support to the Elks, as well as a letter of 'gratitude to the entire Council and City Staff for their cooperation with that organization. Moved by Councilman Cruz, seconded by Councilman Latta that the East San Gabriel Valley Consortium receive a 30 day cancellation notice of the abolishment of City's Agreement with them regarding the transportation program, and that the program be returned to the Community Services Department. OTHER BUSINESS - CITY COUNCIL Moved by Councilman Cruz, seconded by Councilwoman Hart and unanimously carried by roll call that request of the United Pentecostal Church for a street light on First Street between Vernon and Barbara, be referred to City Administrator and Acting Superintendent of Light and Power for report. 'It was consensus of Council that City ,administrator report on possibility of acquiring land adjacent to Zacatecas Park, on a lease -agreement from the Los Angeles County Sanitation District. Moved by Councilman Latta, seconded by Mayor Moses and carried by roll call that staff be directed to investi- gate methods of using Proposition A funds for the construc- tion of benches/shelters and lights at RTD bus stops, and also other forms of transportation such as trams or mini buses for the City. Chief of Police Wood apprised Council and the audience Adopt a dog of the "Adopt a dog for Christmas" program.
