MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL
REGULAR MEETING
APRIL 183 1983 - 7.30 P.M.
The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular
session in the Civic Auditorium at the above time and
date.
Mayor Moses called the meeting to order and led in the
salute to the Flag.
Invocation was given by Pastor Raul Castro of the
Ebenezer Spanish Assembly of God Church.

The CONSENT CALENDAR consisting of Items 1 through 30
was approved on motion of Councilman Cruz, seconded by.
Councilwoman Hart and unanimously carried by roll call
vote, with the exception of Items 10, 15, 21, 22, 27,
and 29 which were considered under the SPECIAL CALL por-
tion of the Agenda.
1. The Min"tes of the April 4, 1983 regular meeting
were approved as written.

7. RESOLUTION NO. 7253
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING THE JOB SPECIFI-
CATIONS FOR FINANCE OFFICER.
8. Scheduled changes of Library9s open hours were approved
as follows: Closed Saturday of Memorial Day weekend;
Saturday of Golden Days Parade; Open.8:00 A.M. to 5:00
P.M. on Christmas Eve, New Year9s Eve and Thanksgiving
' Eva.
9. Request from Consumer Service Manager to dispose of
previously declared surplus property as "scrap" was
approved; in view of the fact that'all avenues to
dispose of same had been exhausted'with no results.

12. Assistant Director of Civil Defense was authorized
to attend California Emergency',Services Association
Conference in Concord, May 25-27, 1983.

Training Conference of the California Peace Officers'
Association, to be held in Concord, May 15-18, 1983.
14. Police Records Supervisor was authorized to attend
Annual Conference/Training Seminar of California Law
Enforcement Association of Records Supervisors, to
be held in San Diego, May 24-279 1983.

16. Notice was given that Planning Commission by Resolu-
tion No. 1900 conditionally approved a variance to
allow a reduced rear yard setback of 20' instead of
the required 25' in order to enclose a front porch
on property located at 831 E: 1st St. Case No.

17. Notice was given that Planning Commission by Resolu-
tion No. 1901 conditionally approved a variance to
allow a reduced distance of 2' instead of the required

received on Liability Insurance and reopen bids on an
amended basis to the three responding bidders, giving
authority to the Finance Officer to accept the lowest
bidder in order to meet the Insurance coverage deadline
May 1, 1983.

Moved by Councilman Decker, seconded by Councilman Latta
and unanimously carried by roll call that due to the
numerous applications received in the Personnel Office
for the position of City Administrator, City Attorney
and Redevelopment Consultants, the Personnel Officer
needs more time to review the applications. Charles
Martin and redevelopment team to be kept on for an
additional thirty days under the existing terms and con-
ditions of their current agreement.
