SUBJECT: HUMAN RESOURCES ACTION ITEMS
BACKGROUND:
The recommended action approves personnel action requests reviewed and recommended by the Personnel
Board and/or otherwise require approval of the City Council.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommend the City Council take the following action:
1) Approve the following personnel action requests in accordance with the City of Azusa Rules of the
Civil Service System, Azusa Municipal Code, and/or applicable Memorandum of Understanding(s).
ANALYSIS:
The Azusa Personnel Board reviewed the following recommendations of City Staff and recommends
approval of the following actions in accordance with the City of Azusa Rules of the Civil Service System
(“Rules”):
A. NEW APPOINTMENT(S) – Pursuant to the Rule 5.5.2 Open Competitive, the Personnel Board
approved recruitment requests for these vacant positions and the appropriate Department Head(s)
pursuant to Rule 5.7.5 Appointment request the following appointment(s):

B. CLASSIFICATION SPECIFICATION REVISION(S) – After reviewing all City of Azusa
classification specifications and meeting and conferring with all City bargaining groups, revision is
recommended to the following classification specifications in accordance with the City of Azusa Rules
of the Civil Service System, Section 3.5 Adoption of Plan to remove language (or any variations thereof)
from the Licenses or Certification section of the respective Classification Specification: “Possession of
and ability to maintain a valid Class C California Driver’s License and a satisfactory driving record.” in
order to comply with Senate Bill (SB) 1100 Discrimination: driver’s license, which makes it an
unlawful employment practice to include statements about the need for a driver’s license in job
advertisements, postings, applications, and similar employment material unless certain conditions are
met:
