The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session in the Civic Auditorium, at the above time and date. Mayor Moses called the meeting to order and led in the salute to the Flag. Invocation was given by Reverend Raul Castro of the Ebenezer Spanish Assembly of God Church. CEREMONIAL Robert DeLoach, newly appointed Parks Superintendent was introducted to members of the Council. Plaques were presented to former Fire Captains Don McClain, Bill Franklin and Larry Kyle, who subsequent to their transfer to L.A. County Fire Service were reduced one rank; said plaques were in appreciation for their services to the City as Fire Captains. Richard Montes, Sister City President, introduced Youth Exchange students and chaperones from our Sister City Zacatecas, Mexico. The City Council presented them with gifts. Bids for restroom renovation at all Azusa Parks were Park Restroom received and opened in the City Clerk's Office on Renovation Thursday, July 14, 1983. Five bids were received R.Clark Contr.' and are on file in the City Clerk's Office. The contract was awarded to Robert Clark Contractor, low bidder, in the amount of $99,000.00, deleting two ' park facilities; waiving irregularity of no corporate seal; the Mayor and City Clerk were authorized to execute contract and City Clerk was directed to return unsuccessful bidders' guarantees. 15. RESOLUTION NO. 7302 Res. #7302 Warrants A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY (FY 1982-83) OF AZUSA ALLOWING CERTAIN CLAIMS AND DEMANDS AND SPECIFYING THE FUNDS OUT OF WHICH THE SAME ARE TO BE PAID. 07/18/83 Page 2 Moved by Councilman Latta, seconded by Councilman Decker that Ordinance be adopted. 'PUBLIC HEARING - on appeal from action of the Planning Commission denying Conditional Use Permit to allow "off sale, beer and wine" license to.a non -conforming use on property located at 204 E. Foothill Blvd., Lee Patterson. The Mayor declared the Hearing open. The City Clerk read the affidavit of proof of publication of Notice of said Hearing published in the Azusa Herald on July 6th and the affidavit of proof of posting said property on July 8, 1983. It was consensus of Council that Chief of Police re-eval- uate the canyon area, reporting on equipment, etc., needed to properly monitor the area; necessity for signs indica- ting specific danger areas as well as informing citizens that speeders will be cited; and revenues generated from citations issued.
