MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL
ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING
SEPTEMBER 20, 1983 - 7:30 P.M.
The City Council of the City of Azusa met in adjourned?
regular session in the Civic Auditorium, at the' above time.
and date.
Mayor Moses called the meeting to order and led in the
salute to the Flag.

Councilman Latta offered a resolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA,
CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY ON SEPTEMBER 13, 1983, DECLARING
THE•RESULT THEREOF AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS ARE PROVIDED
BY LAW.
Moved by Councilman Latta, seconded by Councilman Cruz and
unanimously carried by roll call (*) to waive further reading.
Moved by.Councilman Latta, seconded by Councilman Cruz that
resolution be adopted. Resolution passed and adopted by
the following vote of the Council:

NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE

As a matter of record, the Resolution declaring the results

RESOLUTION NO. 7332
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA , CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE
SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY ON
SEPTEMBER 13, 1983, DECLARING.THE RESULT THERE-
OF AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS ARE PROVIDED BY
LAW.
' WHEREAS, a special municipal election was held and conducted
in the City of Azusa, County of Los Angeles, State of California, on
Tuesday, September 13, 1983, as required by law; and
WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly and regularly
given in time, form and manner as provided by law; that voting pre-
cincts were properly established; that election officers were appointed
and that the votes cast thereat, received and canvassed and the returns
made and declared in time, form and manner as required by the provisions
of the Elections Code of the State of California for the holding of
elections in General Law cities; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 7318 adopted on August
15, 1983, the City Clerk of said City canvassed the returns of said
election and has certified the results to this City Council, said
results are received, attached and made a part hereof as "Exhibit A".
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA,
CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE ANI7 ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That there were twelve (12) voting precincts
established for the purpose of holding said election consisting of
'consolidations of the regular election precincts in said city as estab-
lished for the holding of state and county elections.
SECTION 2. That said special municipal election was held
for the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters of said city the
following questions:

SECTION 3. That the whole number of votes cast in said
city (except absent voter ballots) was 2,974
That the whole number of absent voter ballots cast in said
city was 279, making a total of 3,253 votes cast in said city.
SECTION 4. That the number of votes given at each precinct
and the number of votes given in the city for and against each question
is as follows: (See Exhibit 'A')
SECTION 5. The City Council does declare and determine that:
As a result of said election, a majority of the qualified
voters voting on said measure relating to the recall of
Eugene F. Moses did not vote in favor thereof, and that
said Eugene F. Moses was not recalled from the office of
Mayor.
As a result of said election, a majority of the qualified
voters voting on said measure relating to the recall of
Bruce Latta did not vote in favor thereof, and that said
Bruce Latta was not recalled from the office of Member of
the City Council.
As a result of said election, a majority of the qualified
voters voting on said measure relating to the recall of
Willard R. Decker did vote in favor thereof, and that
said Willard R. Decker was recalled from the office of
Member of the City Council.
As a result of said election, a majority of the qualified
' voters voting on said measure relating to the recall of
June Hart did vote in favor thereof, and that said
June Hart was recalled from the office of Member of the
City Council.
Asa. result of said election, on the question of filling
the vacancy or vacancies if the recall prevails, a
majority of voters voting on said question voted to fill
the vacancy or vacancies by Special Election.
SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall enter on the records of the
City Council of said City, a statement of the result of said election,
showing:
(1) The whole number of votes
2 The measures voted upon,
3 The number of votes given
against each measure,
(4) The number of votes given
each measure.

at each precinct for and
in the city for and against
SECTION 7. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage
and adoption of this Resolution; shall enter the same in the book of
original Resolutions of said City; and shall make a minute of the
passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the
City Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the
same is passed and adopted.
SECTION 8. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED ON September 20, 1983.

Due to the fact that Councilmembers Decker and Hart were
not in attendance at the meeting, there are no retiring
statements in the Minutes.
Moved by Councilman Latta, seconded by Councilman Cruz
and unanimously carried to adjourn meeting to 7:45 P.M.,
September 20, 1983, Civic Auditorium.
