TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL
VIA: SERGIO GONZALEZ, CITY MANAGER
FROM: ROCKY WENRICK, CHIEF OF POLICE
DATE: DECEMBER 2, 2024
SUBJECT: PURCHASE OF FOUR 2024 FORD UTILITY POLICE INTERCEPTOR VEHICLES
BACKGROUND:
As part of the ongoing fleet maintenance program at the Azusa Police Department, police vehicles are
replaced or retired out of the fleet when appropriate and deemed necessary. The Police Department is
replacing Four (4) vehicles and need to purchase Four (4) 2024 Ford Police Interceptor SUV’s from
Envision Ford Lincoln of Duarte Contract# DPO-SH-25005003-1
RECOMMENDATION(S):
It is recommended that the City Council take the following action(s):
1. Approve the purchase of four 2024 Ford Police Interceptor SUV vehicles from Envision Ford
Lincoln of Duarte, in an amount not to exceed $255,033.
ANALYSIS:
Each year the Police Department budgets to replace high mileage patrol vehicles. This fleet rotation
involves replacing four of the fleet to reduce the annual capital outlay for patrol vehicles while providing
safe, reliable and up-to-date equipment for patrol officers and other public safety personal. Not only do
these high mileage vehicles become expensive to maintain, but compromise officer and public safety.
Several police vehicles are beyond their warranties and are in need of retirement from patrol
deployment. These Four (4) vehicles will be used as marked patrol units.
