MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL
ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING
SEPTEMBER 20, 1983 - 7:45 P.M.
The City Council of the City of Azusa met in adjourned
regular session in the Civic Auditorium at the above
time and date'.
Mayor Moses called the meeting to order and led in the
salute to the Flag.
ROLL CALL
PRESENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: CRUZ, LATTA, MOSES
ABSENT :- COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE
ALSO PRESENT
Assistant City Administrator/Police Chief Wood, Deputy
City Clerk Lara.
Councilman Latta offered a resolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA,
CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF A
SPECIAL MU14ICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON
TUESDAY, DECEMBER 20, 1983, FOR THE ELECTION OF TWO
MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF SAID CITY AS REQUIRED BY
THE PROVISIONS OF THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RELATING TO GENERAL LAW CITIES.
Moved by Councilman Latta, seconded by Councilman Cruz and
'unanimously carried by roll call to waive further reading.
Moved by Councilman Latta, seconded by Councilman Cruz that
resolution be adopted. Resolution passed and adopted by
the following vote of the Council:
AYES: COUNCILME.MBERS: CRUZ, LATTA, MOSES
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE
Councilman Latta offered a resolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA,
CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE
COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, TO RENDER SPECIFIED SERVICES TO
SAID CITY RELATING TO THE CONDUCT OF A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY, DECEMBER
20, 1983.
Moved by Councilman Latta, seconded by Mayor Moses and
unanimously carried by roll call to waive further reading.
Moved by Councilman Latta, seconded by.Councilman Cruz
that resolution be adopted. Resolution passed and adopted
by the following vote of the Council:
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: CRUZ, LATTA, MOSES
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE
Moved by Councilman Latta, seconded by Councilman Cruz
and unanimously carried by roll call that due to time
constraints preventing the adoption of a new resolution
with regard to candidates' regulations and costs for
material submitted to to the electorate, that Resolution
No. 7140 adopted June .30, 1982 in connection with the
November 2, 1982 election shall be in full force and effect
and shall apply to the special election of December 20,
1983 as well.

Moved by Councilman Cruz, seconded by Councilman Latta Adj to 9/26/83
and unanimously carried to adjourn meeting to Monday,
September 26, 1983, at 7:30 P.M. in the Civic Auditorium.
