' The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session in the Civic Auditorium, at the above time and date. Mayor Moses called the meeting to order and led in the Call to Order salute to the Flag. Invocation was given by Monsignor Robert Stein of the Invocation St. Frances of Rome Church. Resignation for purposes of retirement of William Resignation Hastings, Electric Operations Supervisor, effective Wm. Hastings December 31, 1983, was accepted. A Resolution/ Plaque is to be prepared for presentation at a later date. 11. Proposed Agreement renewal between the City and Agmt. Pro Alarm Pro Alarm Systems for a period of two years was Systems approved. Interim City Administrator/Chief of (C-709) Police was authorized to execute the agreement. 12. Request to waive bicycle licensing fee between December, 1983 and March 1984, in conjunction with a Bicycle Safety Program was approved. 13. a. OTHER BUSINESS/CITY COUNCIL It was consensus of Council that City Attorney and Chief of Police review existing Ordinances regarding vicious animals and make recommendations for strength- ening same. a7 Res. #7354 Warrants Invitation to Prgm. at Lee School Review Ords. re: Dogs Interim City Administrator was directed to investigate Fed.Grants for possibility of receiving Federal Grants for tree planting, tree planting which would create jobs as well as beautify the city. It was consensus of Council that Interim City Adminis- Full rpt. on trator prepare a complete report with regard to actual Golden Days expenses incurred for Golden Days; time, materials, etc. expenditures Moved by Councilman Latta, seconded by Mayor Moses and City Atty to ' unanimously carried by roll call that City Attorney review Ord. re: review existing Ordinance regarding prohibition of alcoholic bev. alcoholic beverages on City property; specifically that on city propty. portion dealing with Council waiving said prohibition, with possible repealing of said section; however, to exclude the Woman's Club from that ban. Moved by Mayor Moses, seconded by Councilman Cruz and Req. of downtown unanimously carried by roll call that request of merchants cont. maintenance items from downtown merchants be continued to 10/20 adj.mtg. to adjourned meeting of October 20th, for review of all items listed, with possible solutions for resolving said requests. It was consensus of Council that Interim City Adminis- trator report on number of beer bars located within the City excluding bona fide eating establishments. Moved by Councilman Latta that Agenda be modified from present Consent Calendar to Omnibus type of Agenda, wherein each item could be discussed and then action taken on all items as presentlydone. It was consensus of Council that City Attorney review present policy on demolition of buildings for possible new.,approaoh to said problem. {interim City Administrator was directed to investigate street sweeping problems with recommendation for a more efficient method.of having streets Cleaned.
