The City Council of the City of Azusa met in adjourned regular session at the City Hall Conference Room at the above time and date. Mayor Moses called the meeting to order and led in the Call to Order salute to the Flag. ROLL CALL Roll Call PRESENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: CRUZ, LATTA, MOSES ABSENT COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE ALSO PRESENT Interim City Administrator/Chief of.Police Wood, City Treasurer Talley, Finance Officer McFarlane,City Clerk Solis, Deputy City Clerk Lara. Councilman Cruz offered a resolution entitled: Res. #7357 Commending & A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA Honoring J. H014ORING AND COMMENDING JOHN CORTEZ UPON HIS ORDINA- Cortez' TION INTO THE PRIESTHOOD. Ordination Moved by Councilman Cruz, seconded by Councilman Latta that resolution be adopted. Resolution passed and adopted by the following vote of the Council: AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: CRUZ, LATTA, MOSES NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE A lengthy discussion was held with Finance Officer and City Treasurer regarding city finances. It was consensus of Council that Interim City Administrator request department heads to review their budgets and recommend suggestions for saving money. It was also consensus that Council meet some day in the near future to go over the budget for possible adjustments. A Utility Users Tax was also discussed for future review. Thirteen maintenance -type requests for the downtown area were submitted by the merchants and were dis- cussed separately for possible resolution. It was moved by Councilman Latta, seconded�by Mayor Moses and unanimously carried by roll call that Council enthusiastically endorse the list as submitted and direct staff to follow through as soon as possible. Interim City Administrator reported on incident of Miller Brewery representative from Miller Brewery Company consuming Rep.Drinking beer at Golden Days functions and adverse publicity Beer at Golden received in the Azusa Herald, and stated that all Days Activities concerned were advised of the City Council's and his displeasure of the incident.
