Approve Grant of Easement - 900 W Foothill Blvd, Azusa_ApprovedCONSENT CALENDAR TO: HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBERS OF THE AZUSA UTILITY BOARD FROM: MANNY ROBLEDO, DIRECTOR OF UTILITIES DATE: NOVEMBER 22, 2021 SUBJECT: APPROVE GRANT OF EASEMENT AND AUTHORIZE THE RECORD THEREOF FOR THE ELECTRIC FACILITIES INSTALLED ON PRIVATE PROPERTY FROM PROPERTY OWNER FOR SITE ADDRESS 900 W. FOOTHILL BOULEVARD, AZUSA, CA 91702 BACKGROUND: The property owner is developing a new public storage facility at 900 W Foothill Blvd. To serve electric utility to this site, Staff has developed an electric utility plan, which requires developer to install underground electric facilities such as conduit and a transformer pad on this property. Property owner is granting an easement to the Azusa Light & Water for the purpose of operating and maintaining said electric utility facilities. Staff is seeking Utility Board approval to accept such grant of easement and authorize the City Clerk to file the grant of easement with the County. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the Utility Board take the following actions: 1)Certificate of Acceptance of Grant of Permanent Easement for Electric utility purposes from property owner for site address 900 W Foothill Boulevard in the City of Azusa; and 2) Adopt Resolution No. 2021-UB-10; and 3) Authorize the City Clerk to file said easement documents with the Office of the Los Angeles County Recorder. Foothill Blvd November 22, 2021 Page 2 ANALYSIS: The property owner at 900 W Foothill Blvd is constructing a new public storage building. To receive electric utility service, developer is required to install new electric facilities such as underground conduit and a transformer pad on private property, as depicted in Exhibit A and B of attached easement document. The property owner is providing an easement to Azusa Light & Water. This utility easement is being granted to allow the Electric Utility right-of-way for operation and maintenance of its electric facilities. FISCAL IMPACT: There is no cost to Azusa Light & Water for accepting this Grant of Permanent Easement. Prepared by: Reviewed and Approved: Manuel Garcia, P.E.
