Approve Grant of Easement - 573 E Arrow Hwy Azusa_ApprovedCONSENT ITEM F-1 TO: HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBERS OF THE AZUSA UTILITY BOARD FROM: TIKAN SINGH, GENERAL MANAGER DATE: NOVEMBER 25, 2024 SUBJECT: APPROVE GRANT OF EASEMENT AND AUTHORIZE THE RECORD THEREOF FOR THE ELECTRIC FACILITIES INSTALLED ON PRIVATE PROPERTY FROM PROPERTY OWNER FOR SITE ADDRESS 573 E. ARROW HIGHWAY, AZUSA, CA 91702 BACKGROUND: The property owner is developing new 10-unit townhome apartments located at 573 East Arrow Hwy. To serve electric utility to this site, Staff has developed an electric utility plan, which requires the developer to install underground electric facilities such as conduit, primary pullbox, and a transformer pad on this property. The property owner is granting an easement to the Azusa Light & Water for the purpose of operating and maintaining said electric facilities. Staff is seeking Utility Board approval to accept such grant of easement and authorize the City Clerk to file the grant of easement with the County. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the Utility Board take the following actions: 1)Certificate of Acceptance of Grant of Permanent Easement for Electric utility purposes from property owner for site address 573 E Arrow Highway in the City of Azusa; 2) Adopt Resolution No. 2024-UB08; and 3)Authorize the City Clerk to file said easement documents with the Office of the Los Angeles County Recorder. ANALYSIS: The property owner at 573 E Arrow Hwy is constructing new 10-unit townhome apartments. To receive electric utility service, the developer is required to install new electric facilities such as underground conduit, primary pullbox, and a transformer pad on private property, as depicted in Exhibit A and B of attached easement document. The property owner is providing an easement to Azusa Light & Water. This Approved Utility Board 11/25/2024 Grant of Easement Acceptance – 573 E. Arrow Hwy November 25, 2024 Page 2 of 2 utility easement is being granted to allow the Electric Utility right-of-way for the operation and maintenance of its electric facilities. FISCAL IMPACT: There is no cost to Azusa Light & Water for accepting this Grant of Permanent Easement.
