MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL
REGULAR MEETING
APRIL 2, 1984 - 7:30 P.M.
The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular
session at the above time and date in the Civic
Auditorium.
Mayor Moses called the meeting to order and led in Call to Order
the salute to the Flag.
Invocation was given by Joseph Guarrera, Director of Invocation
Community Services.

Councilman Cook presented a resolution, which the City Res. to Jody
Administrator read in full, to Jody Watson, commendinq Watson
her for saving a fellow passenger's life on her flight
from Boise, Idaho.

Mr. Leo Nasser introduced Miss Azusa, Dede Soto, and Intro.Miss Azusa
her court Deborah McPherson and Kathleen Hanan, to the & Court
Council and the audience. The City Council congratu-
lated the winners and presented them with bouquets of
roses.
City Administrator introduced Geoffrey Craig, Director
of Finance to the Council and audience.
CONSENT CALENDAR
The CONSENT CALENDAR consisting of Items 1 through 22
was approved on motion of Councilman Cruz, seconded by
Councilman Cook and unanimously carried by roll call
vote.
1. The Minutes of the March 19th adjourned regular
meeting were approved as written.

Azusa Municipal Code, Amendment No. 141, revisions to
the Arcade Ordinance.
The Mayor declared the Hearing reopened.
Testimony was received.
Moved by Councilman Latta, seconded by Councilman Cook
and unanimously carried by roll call to close the
Hearing.
Councilman Cook offered an Urgency Ordinance with Amend-
ment, i.e., deletion of Section 8.60.120(b),entitled:
AN URGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, ADDING CHAPTER 8.60, AMENDING SEC-
TIONS 19.04.031 AND 19.26.060(2) (II) AND ADDING SECTION
19.40.052 TO THE AZUSA MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO
MECHANICAL, OR ELECTRONIC GAMES.
Moved by Councilman Cook, seconded by Councilman Latta
to waive further reading and adopt. Ordinance failed
by the following vote of the Council:

subsequent resolutions, failed by the following vote

PUBLIC HEARING - on proposed amendment to the Municipal Pub.Hrg.
Code amendment No. 142, review of parking requirements, Amend. #142
carports in R2 and R3 zones and allowance for compact
car parking.
The Mayor declared the Hearing open. The City Clerk
read the affidavit of proof of publication of notice
of said Hearing published in the Azusa Herald on
March 21, 1984.
No testimony was received.

and unanimously carried by roll call to close the
Hearing.

and unanimously carried by roll call to approve Code
Amendment No. 143 as per Planning Commission Resolution
No. 1995 and to approve the Negative Declaration.
