The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and date in the Civic Auditorium. Mayor Moses called the meeting to order and led in Call to Order the salute to the Flag. Invocation was given by Joseph Guarrera, Director of Invocation Community Services. Councilman Cook presented a resolution, which the City Res. to Jody Administrator read in full, to Jody Watson, commendinq Watson her for saving a fellow passenger's life on her flight from Boise, Idaho. The City Council congratu- lated the winners and presented them -with bouquets of roses. City Administrator introduced Geoffrey Craig, Director of Finance to the Council and audience. CONSENT CALENDAR The CONSENT CALENDAR consisting of Items 1 through 22 was approved on motion of Councilman Cruz, seconded by Councilman Cook and unanimously carried by roll call vote. 1. The Minutes of the March 19th adjourned regular meeting were approved as written. 2. The contract was awarded to Meals Cabaret Catering, lowest bidder, at $2.24 per meal. The Mayor and City Clerk were authorized to execute the contract and City Clerk was directed to return unsuccessful bidders' guarantees. 11. Plans and specifications for re -roofing Reservoir Plans & Specs. #2 in the Spreading Grounds, Project No. 659, were Reservoir #2 approved. The City Clerk was directed to advertise Proj. #659 for bids. 12. Notice of appointment of probationary police officers,Appt.prob.Pol. Code amendment No. 142, review of parking requirements, Amend. #142 carports in R2 and R3 zones and allowance for compact car parking. The Mayor declared the Hearing open. The City Clerk read the affidavit of proof of publication of notice of said Hearing published in the Azusa Herald on March 21, 1984. No testimony was received. Possibility of publicity on installation of fire by Cncl.,Anti- hydrant markers by service organizations and/or Prost.Ord. & boy scouts in conjunction with Los Angeles County Bldg. at Foothill Fire Department. & Cerritos 2. Recent policies adopted by Council to be formulated and placed in Policy Notebook. 3. Possibility of drafting an Anti -Prostitution Ordinance. 4. Status of building at Foothilll Blvd. and Cerritos; making the owner comply and begin construction or start nuisance proceedings immediately.
