CITY OF AZUSA
MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL
REGULAR MEETING
JUNE 4, 1984 - 7:30 P.M.
The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular
session at the above time and date in the Civic Auditor-
ium.
Mayor Moses called the meeting to order and led in the
salute to the Flag.
Invocation was given by Monsignor Robert Stein of the
St. Frances of Rome Church.

CEREMONIAL
Mayor Moses presented a plaque to the THOMAS FAMILY
commending them for their aid to their fellow -man.
Mayor Moses introduced Planning Assistant Daniel Watrous
to Council and audience.
Councilman Cook presented a Proclamation which City
Administrator read in full to Dr. Dimata and Dr. Kraft
proclaiming May as Correct Posture Month.
CONSENT CALENDAR
The CONSENT CALENDAR consisting of Items 1 through 17
was approved on motion of Councilman Latta, seconded
by Councilman Camarena and unanimously carried by
roll call vote, with the exception of Items 3, 9, 10,
and 13, which were considered under the SPECIAL CALL
portion of the Agenda.
1. The Minutes of the May 21, 1984 regular meeting
were approved as written.
2. ABC Notice for off sale, general, person to person
transfer, for premises located at 801 Gladstone
St., Carousel Liquor, was received and filed.

Councilman Cruz offered for second reading an Ordinance
entitled:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA
ADDING SECTIONS 2.12.090, 2.16.090, 2.17.050, 2.18.050
AND 2.76.017 TO THE AZUSA MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE
REMOVAL OF COMMISSION MEMBERS BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COUNCIL AND ADDING SECTIONS 2.12.100, 2.16.100, 2.17.060,
2.18.060 AND 2.76.018 TO THE AZUSA MUNICIPAL CODE RELAT-
ING TO RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS FOR COMMISSION MEMBERS.
Moved by Councilman Cruz, seconded by Councilman Latta
that further reading of the Ordinance be waived. Motion
failed by the following vote of the Council:

Since there was not a unanimous vote for waiving of the
reading of the Ordinance, the City Attorney read the
Ordinance.in full.
" 'Moved by Mayor Moses, seconded by Councilman Camarena
that Ordinance be amended to add "Any member of the
Commission.may be removed 'for just cause'...". Motion
failed by the following vote of the Council:

NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: CRUZ, COOK, LATTA
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE
Moved by Councilman Cook, seconded by Councilman Latta
that Ordinance be adopted. Ordinance passed and adopted
by the following vote of the Council:
