MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL
REGULAR MEETING
SEPTEMBER 4, 1984 - 7:30 P.M.
The City Council of the City .of Azusa met in regular session
at the above time and date in the Civic Auditorium.
Mayor Moses called the meeting to order and led in the
salute to the Flag.

Invocation was given by Mr. Hal Moore of the Church of Christ. Invocation

CEREMONIAL
All members of Council presented a.Proclamation to Sonia Proclamation
Sharma for her participation in the Miss Teen Scholarship S.Sharma and
and Recognition Pageant, and to parents of Ruth Wysocki, R.Wysocki
Mr. and Mrs. Kleinsasser, for Ruth's participation in the
1984 Olympics.
CONSENT CALENDAR
The CONSENT CALENDAR consisting of Items 1 through 24 was Consent Cal.
approved on motion of Councilman Latta, seconded by Appvd.Items
Councilman Camarena and unanimously carried by roll call 6, 8 & 17
vote, with the exception of Items 6, 8 & 17, which were Special Call
considered under the SPECIAL CALL portion of the Agenda.
1. The Minutes of the August 13th adjourned regular meeting Min. Appvd,
and the August 20th, 1984, regular meeting were approved
as written.
2. Claim vs City by Azusa Sales for alleged damages to Claim vs City
vehicles caused by .rotted city tree limb occurring Azusa Sales
July 14, 1984, was denied and referred to City's
Claims Administrator.
3. Formal bidding procedures were waived and authorization Purchase
was given to purchase a Dictaphone endless loop Dictaphone
emergency message repeater system in the amount of
$5,726.40.
4. Formal bidding procedures were waived and authorization Purchase
was given to purchase one used Asplundh aerial lift in Aerial Lift
the amount of $37,807.50.
5. Final Parcel Map No. 16473, northwest corner of 8th St. Parcel Map
and Vernon Avenue was approved and its recordation was No. 16473
authorized.
6. SPECIAL CALL ITEM•
7. Specifications for the purchase of one stump grinder
were approved and the City Clerk was directed to
advertise for bids.

9. Planning Commission was directed to schedule a Public
Hearing on the question of revocation of Conditional
Use Permit Case No. C-80, 229 S. Azusa Ave. (abandoned
service station).
10. Resignation of Police Officer Gary Burnett, effective
August 11, 1984, was accepted.

Three bids were received and opened in the City Clerk's Pickups -Centra'.
Office on August 28, 1984. Quotes are on file in the Leasing &
Office of the City Clerk. Trucks will be purchased Sales
from Central Leasing and Sales, low bidder, in the
amount of $15,297.20.
19. Bid opening for one low profile turf tractor. Four Bid Opening
bids were received and opened in the City Clerk's Office Turf Tractor -
on August 28, 1984. Quotes are on file in the Office of Cook Ford
the City Clerk. The contract was awarded to Cook Ford Tractor
Tractor, low bidder, in the amount of $13,830.90, and
the Mayor and City Clerk were authorized to execute the
contract.
