Staff recommends the City Council take the following actions:

DEFINITION
Under general supervisiondirection, supervises and provides direction; perform advanced
level code inspections and enforceenforces Municipal, State, and Federal ordinances and
laws related to the Azusa Municipal code, building codes, zoning/land use codes, health
and safety codes, property maintenance standards, National Pollutant Discharge
Elimination System (NPDES) requirements, accessibility requirements, and other
standards and regulations; performs related duties as required.
CLASS CHARACTERISTICS
The Senior Community Improvement Inspector Supervisor is the advanced levelfirst-line
supervisory classification in the Community Improvement division and is tasked with
independently planning, providinge guidance through supervision, prioritizing, assigning,
leading, reviewing, and participating in the work of staff responsible for City code
compliance activities. Incumbents conduct advanced professional-level inspections and
investigations related to zoning, public nuisances, property maintenance, building and
safety, public health, safety, welfare, solid waste, animal regulation ordinances, and
planned development and special use issues.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Receives supervision direction and supervision from the Community Improvement
Manager; exercises no supervision along with; providingwith providinges work direction
and guidance to department division staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Plans, prioritizes, assigns, leads, reviews, and participates in the work of staff
responsible for City code compliance activities, including zoning, public nuisances,
property maintenance, building and safety, public health, safety, welfare, solid

• Experience: Four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience as a
Community Improvement Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer with a public
agency, including one (1) year at a lead or supervisory capacity..
Licenses or Certification
• Possession of and ability to maintain a valid Class C California Driver’s License
and a satisfactory driving record.
• Completion of the required California Association of Code Enforcement Officers
(CACEO) Certified Code Enforcement Officers certificate.
• Completion of California Penal Code Section 832, Arrest, Search and Seizure.

programs; ensures compliance with the City’s General Plan and Housing Element; can
work independently;, requires experience in managing social media activities as part of
outreach and communication efforts; performs related duties as required.
CLASS CHARACTERISTICS
The Economic Development and Housing CoordinatorManager classification is tasked
with arranginges, managing, and participatinges in the development, implementation, and
administration of the City’s Economic Development and Housing programs. The
incumbents’ wWork involves responsibility for the application of professional knowledge
and skills to aeffect research, analysis, planning, and the implementation of economic
development programs and requires frequent use of independent judgment. The work
frequently requires attending meetings and hearings, and making presentations to City
Council, business and community groups. Assigned duties and responsibilities will require

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Public or Business Administration, Urban
Planning, Real Estate, or a related field from an accredited college. A Master's
Degree from an accredited college in a related field is highly desirable.
• Experience: Two Five (52) years of increasingly responsible professional
experience in housing, economic development, redevelopment, and/or city
planning, with at least one three (31) years of experience in a supervisory, lead, or
managerial position. A Master's Degree may qualify as one (1) year of experience.
Licenses or Certification
• Possession of and ability to maintain a valid Class C California Driver’s License
and a satisfactory driving record.
