The City Council of the City of Azusa met in adjourned regular. session at the above date and time in the City Hall Conference Room. Mayor Moses called the meeting to order. Call to order ROLL CALL Roll Call PRESENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: CRUZ, COOK, LATTA, MOSES ABSENT COUNCILMEMBERS: CAMARENA ALSO PRESENT City Attorney Thorson, City Administrator/Chief of Police Wood, Deputy City Clerk Lara. Moved by Councilman Cruz, seconded by Councilman Latta and Chamber to unanimously carried by roll call to approve the Chamber of use Sr.Cit. Commerce's request to use the senior citizen vans for their vans w/appvl fundraising event ( car raffle )providing that they compensate of Cty Atty the drivers for their time and that it be contingent upon the City Attorney approving the legality of using the vans for such a venture. Councilman Camarena absent. Moved by Councilman Cruz, seconded by Councilman Cook and Deny purch carried by roll call that request. to purchase an ad in the ab in Gladstn Gladstone High School Yearbook be denied, as Council policy yearbook provides that such requests be submitted in April for discussion during the budget session. Councilman Latta dissenting and Councilman Camarena absent. Moved by Councilman Cruz, seconded by Councilman Cook and Utility Dir. unanimously carried by roll call that Utility Director Joe to.tour Hsu be authorized to tour new nuclear facility in Arizona. Mayor Moses called the meeting to order and led in the salute Call to order to the Flag. Invocation was given by Sister Frances Dougherty of the Saint Invocation Frances of Rome Church. Sister Frances Dougherty of the Saint Frances of Rome Church addressed the Council and the audience advising that food baskets were being prepared and would be available for the holidays. Needy Azusans will be certified by the Council of Social Agencies and the food basket preparation would be done at the Catholic Church. CEREMONIAL A proclamation honoring the Highlander Publications'.20th anniversary was read in full by the City Administrator and presented to Tom Klett of the Azusa Herald by the Mayor. Certificates of appreciation were presented by the Council en masse, for serving Thanksgiving dinners to the senior citizens, disabled and needy residents of the City of Azusa, at Bob's Burgers, to the following: Connie Cardenas,, Delores Lehman, Vera Martinez, Bob Metcalf, Eloise Mood and Vern Spangler. rs. He was slnt prayr instrumental in the Sister City Program getting off the ground M. Riva in Zacatecas. In his memory, the Council and audience observed Palacio a moment of silent prayer.
