Mayor Moses called the meeting to order and led in the salute to the Flag. Invocation was given by Geoffrey Craig,Director of Finance for the City of Azusa. ROLL CALL PRESENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: COOK, CAMARENA, MOSES ABSENT : COUNCILMEMBERS: CRUZ, LATTA Moved by Mayor Moses, seconded by Councilman Cook and unanimously carried by roll call * to excuse Councilmembers Cruz and Latta from the meeting. CEREMONIAL NONE CONSENT CALENDAR The CONSENT CALENDAR consisting of Items 1 through 14 was Consent Cal approved with amendments as specified in Items F-8, F-9, appvd w/ F-10 and F-11, by motion of Councilman Cook, seconded by amendments Councilman Camarena and unanimously carried by roll call vote.* 1. The Minutes of the adjourned and regular meeting of Min..appvd .,December 17, 1984 were approved as written. 2. ABC Notice for on sale, beer and wine, public premises, ABC Notice original fee, located at 636 N. Azusa Avenue, T. G.'s T.G.'s Saloon Saloon, was received and filed. There were no objections by the Chief of Police. ABC Notice for off sale, beer and wine, new license, for ABC Notice premises located at 710 S. Azusa Avenue, Fast Save,was Fast Save received. Staff was directed to send a letter of protest, (ltr of protst) as the site is not located in the Freeway Service Zone. 4. The resignation of Assistant Director of Emergency Services, Resign. C. Chris Bronsal, effective December 20, 1984, was accepted. Bronsal 5. Resignation of Police Officer, Stephen Brown, effective Resign. S. December 14, 1984, was accepted. Brown 50/ 6. The appointments of Police Cadets Bruce Badoni, Sam Fleming Pol. Off.Trne and Sam Gonzalez to the position of Police Officer Trainee appts. were approved with the effective date being January 16, 1985. 7. OTHER BUSINESS/CITY COUNCIL Moved by Mayor Moses, seconded by Councilman Cook and animously carried by roll call * that staff be directed to end the policy on utility shut -offs, with the possibility extending more time in emergency situations for those residents who are delinquent in their payments. Moved by Mayor Moses, seconded by Councilman Cook and unanimously carried by roll call* that City Attorney be directed to investigate the possibility of the City acting as purveyor of the State Lottery tickets so that profits of sales could be a source of'revenue to the City.
