MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL
REGULAR MEETING
MAY 20, 1985 - 7:30 P.M.
The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session
after recessing from the 6:00 P.M. session, at the above
date and time in the Civic Auditorium.
'Mayor Moses called the meeting to order and led in the salute
to the Flag.
INVOCATION was given by Reverend Frank Herber of the Church
of Jesus Christ, Latter Day Saints.

CEREMONIAL
The Mayor announced two winners of the Older American Volunteer
Act, Eloise Moon and Lou Nelson. They approached the podium
'and were recognized for this achievement.
Councilman Cook presented a Plaque to the Grinder Restaurant,
which was received by Ray Maldonado, for their many
contributions to the City.
The Council, as a body, presented awards to the winners
of the St. Jude's Bike-a-thon.
CONSENT CALENDAR
The CONSENT CALENDAR consisting of Items 1 through 26
was approved by motion of Councilman Cook, seconded by
Councilman Camarena and unanimously carried by roll call
vote, with the exception of Item F-14, as amended, and
Items F-8 and F-15, which were considered under the
SPECIAL CALL portion of the Agenda.

16. Bid opening for Project No. 678, resurfacing several city Bid -Prof 678
parking lots was held on Tuesday, May 140 1985. Two bids Contr. to
were opened and received in the City Clerk's Office and Union Pavng
quotes are on file. The contract was awarded to Union
Paving Co., Inc., low bidder, in the amount of $6,658.00;
the Mayor and City Clerk were authorized to execute the
contract and the City Clerk was directed to return the
unsuccessful bidder's guarantee.
17. Bid opening for Project No. 680, 10' block wall at City
Bid -Proj 680
Yard has held on Tuesday, May 14, 1985. Two bids were
bids rejected
received and opened in the City Clerk's Office, and
quotes are on file. The bids were declared unacceptable
and the City Clerk was directed to return bidders' guarantees
as well as to re -advertise this project for bids.

padmounted transformers from RTE Corporation in the amount
of $24,983.00.

unanimously carried by roll call, to table item regarding tree tabled to
the Modesto Ash tree for use as a parkway tree,to the meeting 6/3 mtg
of June 3rd, to afford staff to report on type of Ash tree
�hat was used as a parkway tree on Angeleno Street some years
go which caused damage to the sidewalks at that location.
