MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL
REGULAR MEETING
JUNE 17, 1985 - 7:30 P.M.
The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session
after recessing from their CLOSED SESSION and 6:00 P.M.
'session, at the above date and time in the Civic Auditorium.
Mayor Moses called the meeting to order and led in the Call to order
salute to the Flag.
INVOCATION was given by Reverenu Gordon Coulter of the Invocation
Free Methodist Church.

of $6,850.00; the Mayor and City Clerk were authorized
to execute the contract and the City Clerk was directed
to return unsuccessful bidders' guarantees. Three
bids were received and opened in the City Clerk's
Office on June 11, 1985, and quotations are on file
in that office.
9. The contract for Project No. 684, replacement of sewer Bid open.Proj
ejector pumps at the Police Department, was awarded 684 Dasco
to Dasco Construction, low bidder, in the amount of Const.
$8,488.00; the Mayor and City Clerk were authorized
to execute the contract and the City Clerk was directed
to return unsuccessful bidder's guarantee. Two bids
were received and opened in the City Clerk's Office
on June 11, 1985, and quotations are on file in that
office.

The contract for Project No. 670, modification of

It was consensus of Council that the following items be
addressed:
completion of the 210 Freeway - correspondence to
Assemblyman Mountjoy, possibility of Council going
to Sacramento to lobby issue.
Demand that the landscaping on the 210 Freeway in
the City be upgraded as it is in other cities; again
correspondence or lobby in Sacramento.
Streets and highways are in poor repair.
Train station depot is in dire need of landscaping
and beautification.
Possibility of securing grants for redevelopment;
correspondence/lobby.
Report on progress of redevelopment along Arrow Highway.
Possible re-zoning/freezing area adjacent to the 210
Freeway for redevelopment.
The City Attorney/General Counsel apprised the Council/
Redevelopment Agency that the motion made at the 6:00
P.M. meeting for the CLOSED SESSION was still in effect,
as they had not concluded discussions on all matters.
However, since they would be introducing, yet another
matter, it was,

recess to CLOSED SESSION to confer with City Attorney
regarding pending litigation pursuant to Government Code
Section 54956.9(c) relating to the Hinkley/Canyon Inn
property on San Gabriel Canyon Road and that the Council
finds that discussion of the litigation in open session
