MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL
REGULAR MEETING
JULY 1, 1985 - 7:30 P.M.
he City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session
fter recessing from their CLOSED SESSION and 6:00 P.M.
ession, at the above date and time in the Civic Auditorium.
Mayor Moses called the meeting to order and led in the Call to order
salute to the Flag.
INVOCATION was given by Reverend Stephen Saiz of the United Invocation
Pentecostal Church.

approved by motion of Councilman Cook, seconded by Councilman
Camarena and unanimously carried by roll call vote, with
the exception of Item F-12 which was considered under the
SPECIAL CALL portion of the Agenda.

SPECIAL CALL ITEM.
13. Specifications/sketches for the demolition of gas station Specs appvd
at 229 S. Azusa Avenue, Project No. 688, were approved Proj. 688
and the City Clerk was directed to advertise for bids.
Further, project was found to be categorically exempt
under State CEQA Guidelines, per Section 1-L(3).
14. Specifications for the purchase of one 7 -Gang Mower Specs appvd
unit mounted on diesel turf tractor were approved, 7 -Gang mower
contingent upon item being approved in the 1985-86
budget; the City Clerk was also directed to advertise
for bids.

by staff and appellant's attorney.
Moved by Mayor Moses, seconded by Councilman Latta that

and unanimously carried by roll call that the City register
its opposition to Assembly Bill 1279 by notifying our local
legislators as well as the individual members of the Senate
Transportation Committee to express opposition to this
legislation; further that the League of California Cities,
alifornia Contract Cities and Independent Cities be urged
o express their opposition to this bill as well.
AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION
It was consensus of Council that staff be directed to
formulate planned activities for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts
visiting Azusa from Jalisco, Mexico.
Request of Martin Acosta for a minor deviation for a one
car garage was referred to the Planning Commission for
action.
