CITY OF AZUSA
MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL
REGULAR MEETING
NOVEMBER 4, 1985 - 7:30 P.M.
The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session
after their early session and closed session, at the above
date and time in the Civic Auditorium.
Mayor Moses called the meeting to order and led in the Call to Order
salute to the Flag.
INVOCATION was given by Reverend Stephen K. Gustin of
the Berean Christian Center.

CEREMONIAL
Mayor Moses presented a Proclamation, which the City
Administrator read in full, to Mrs. Gerri Van DerBeck,
commending the Golden Days Committee.
Presentation of Certificate of Appreciation to Explorer
Post 403 and monetary gift; and thanks to Councilmembers
and Chief of Police for support - from San Gabriel Valley
Chapter of the Latino Peace Officers Association.
CONSENT CALENDAR
The CONSENT CALENDAR consisting of Items 1 through 7 was
approved by motion of Councilman Cook, seconded by
Councilman Cruz and unanimously carried by roll call with
the exception of Item F-5, which was pulled from the Agenda.
1. The Minutes of the 6:00 P.M. meeting and the 7:30 P.M.
Meeting of October 21, 1985, were approved as written.

of Gladstone west of Azusa Ave., and adjacent to Little
Dalton Wash, was approved and its recordation authorized.

5. This Item was removed from the Agenda by the City
Attorney.
6. Bid opening for Project No. 662, reconstruction of
Todd Ave. and Foothill Blvd. intersections. Seven
bids were received and opened in the City Clerk's Office
on October 29, 1985. The contract was awarded to
Mobassaly Engineering, Inc., low bidder, in the amount
of $152,435.00. The Mayor was authorized to execute
the contract and the City Clerk was directed to return
unsuccessful bidders' guarantees.

ALLOWING CERTAIN CLAIMS AND DEMANDS AND SPECIFYING
THE FUNDS OUT OF WHICH THE SAME ARE TO BE PAID.

THE CITY COUNCIL DID NOT CONVENE AS THE INDUSTRIAL
DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY, AS NO BUSINESS WAS NECESSARY TO
BE TRANSACTED.

in the amount of $11,750.00. The Mayor and the City Clerk
ere authorized to execute the contract. The City Clerk

UBLIC HEARING Environmental Assessment of the Hoover
Power Plant Project.
The City Attorney advised that there was no Public Hearing
required at this time.

It was consensus of Council that problems regarding venders
be referred to Code Enforcement Officer..

carried by roll call that in reconsideration of installation
of computers in Councilmembers homes, to eliminate the
installation of computers in Councilmembers homes; however,
that the order is not to be amended to exclude receiving
these computers from Hewlett Packard, they are to be
installed in other locations in the City as needed.

Moved by Mayor Moses, seconded by Councilman Latta and
unanimously carried by roll call that financial status
of five year projection of Redevelopment funds and high
tensity in commercial and industrial zones be referred
staff for study.
It was consensus of Council that Staff be directed to
contact VFW regarding new flag pole holders for our City
street flag poles.
