Mayor Moses called the meeting to order and led in the salute Call to order to the Flag. INVOCATION was given by Joe Guarrera, Director of Community Invocation Services as Reverend Silvestri was not in attendance. Mayor Moses introduced Mr. Sanford Greenberg, from Congressman Intro S. Martinez' office and thanked him for being in attendance Breenberg at the meeting. The CONSENT CALENDAR consisting -of Items 1 through 18 was Consent Cal. approved by motion of Councilman Camarena, seconded by appvd Item Councilman Cook, and unanimously carried by roll call vote, F-5 Special with the exception of Item F-5, which was considered under Call the SPECIAL CALL portion of the Agenda. 1. Agreement to purchase replacement capacity from Southern California Edison Company was approved. 8. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AUTHORIZING FUEL EFFICIENT TRAFFIC SIGNAL MANAGEMENT 19. PROGRAM GRANT APPLICATION. Plans and specifications for the modification and construction of a new metal shed at the City Yard, Project No. 698, were approved and the City Clerk directed to advertise for bids. 10. Contract for Project No. 662, reconstruction of Todd" Avenue, and Foothill Blvd. intersections was awarded to Mobassaly Engineering, Inc., low bidder, in the amount of $152,435.00; the Mayor was authorized to execute the contract and the City Clerk was directed to return unsuccessful bidders' guarantees. Seven bids were 15. received and opened in the City Clerk's Office on October 29, 1985. The Mayor then commended him and the County Fire Department for the fine job they were doing in Azusa. Discussion was held regarding the Crystal Canyon Condominium Crystal Cnyn Development and possibility of having the roofs in Spanish Condos tile. No action taken. Citizens were urged to advise graffiti staff when graffiti appears for hasty removal. Discussion, also, held regarding illegal garage conversions Discussion tthe City. It was felt that the rentors of these illegal illegal garage nversions should be given more time to relocate and that conversions e fact that the City was not going to condone this type f activity should be widely publicized. Moved by Councilman Latta, seconded by Councilman Cruz that the City settle the law suit with Fred Lyte, paying him what is due on his contract in order that this issue be resolved.
