Mayor Moses called the meeting to order and led in the salute Call to order to the Flag. INVOCATION was given by Father David Granadino of the Saint Invocation Frances of Rome Church. ROLL CALL Roll Call PRESENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: CRUZ, COOK, CAMARENA, MOSES ABSENT : COUNCILMEMBERS: LATTA Latta absent ALSO PRESENT Also Present City Attorney Thorson, City Administrator/Chief of Police Wood, City Treasurer Talley, City Clerk Solis, Deputy City Clerk Lara. CEREMONIAL Ceremonial Mr. Joseph Beaulieu presented the City Administrator with Statue of commemorative books, published in the City of Azusa, paying Liberty books gribute to the Statue of Liberty; Statements from President to Library & eagan, as well as the three past Presidents and all the Historical Soc. overnors of the United States, are included in the book. Said books were presented to Mr. Wood for the City Library and the Historical Society. COUNCILMAN LATTA ENTERED THE MEETING AT 7:40 P.M. Latta entrd The CONSENT CALENDAR consisting of Items 1 through 26 was Consent approved by motion of Councilman Cook, seconded by Councilman Calendar appvd Camarena and unanimously carried by roll call vote; Item F-3 amended F-3 was approved as amended. 1. The Minutes of the regular meeting of February 3, 1986 Min appvd were approved as written. 2. Claim v. City by Timothy R. and Bettie K. Smart, for Claim alleged injuries sustained and loss and death of their T. R. & B. K. child due to traffic accident occurring October 2, 1985, Smart was denied and referred to City's Claims Administrator. 3. The resignation for purposes of retirement of Lieutenant Resign. Lt. Gilbert Trujillo, effective February 28, 1986, was Trujillo accepted; further that a resolution be prepared to be presented to him at a later date. 4. The Interim Agreement for Edison to purchase City's Interim agmt capacity and associated energy generated by Palo Verde w/Edison Palo Nuclear Generating Station Unit No. 1 was approved and Verde#1 the Mayor was authorized to execute the agreement. Proposal for engineering services, Hilltop Drive area Eng. secs and drain improvement, Project No. 705, was awarded Hilltop to to BSI Consultants, Inc., in the amount of $10,000.00, BSI Conitnts and the Mayor was authorized to execute the contract. Three proposals were received. 11. The appointment of Chip Taylorson to the position of Appt. C.Taylor Building Maintenance Worker I, effective February 19, 1986., was approved. 12. Contract for Project No. 669, modification of the west L.E.Karger wing of City Hall was awarded to L. E. Three bids were received and opened in the City Clerk's Office on February 11, 1986. 16. Contract for Project No. 703, modification of the Evidence A.A.J., Inc. Room at the Police Department was awarded to A.A.J., bid award Inc., in the amount of $22,450.00, and its execution Proj. 703 authorized. Hall, was awarded to A.A.J., Inc., low bidder, in the Bid award amount of $16,588.00, and its execution was authorized; Proj. 705 the City Clerk was directed to return unsuccessful bidders' guarantees. Six bids were received and opened in the City Clerk's Office on February 11, 1986. 18. Contract for catered food service operation for the Caberet Cater - Senior Citizen Nutrition Program was awarded to Cabaret ing bid award Catering, sole bidder, at a cost of $2.10 per meal, Sr.Cit.Nutri- and its execution authorized. The appointment of Thomas Montague to the position of Reserve Police Officer, effective February 19, 1986, was approved. 22. Promotional appointments in the Police Department were approved for the following: James Collins to the position of Sergeant, effective February 9, 1986.
