The City Council of the City of Azusa met in adjourned regular session at the above date and time in the Civic Auditorium. Mayor Moses called the meeting to order and led in the salute Call to order to the Flag. INVOCATION was given by Reverend Elmer Nelson of the Invocation Foursquare Gospel Church. ROLL CALL Roll Call PRESENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: AVILA, COOK, CRUZ, LATTA, MOSES ABSENT : COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE ALSO PRESENT Also Present City Attorney Thorson, City Administrator/Chief of Police Wood, City Clerk Solis, Deputy City Clerk Lara. CEREMONIAL Ceremonial Councilman Cook presented a Certificate of Appreciation Certificate to outgoing Councilmember Camarena, which was received from of Apprec.to Congressman Martinez' office. A. Item M -1(a) brt frward Various citizens and non-residents addressed Council with regard to supporting the Headstart Program in Azusa, as this program is scheduled for cancellation at the end of June, 1987. Mayor Moses offered a resolution which the City Administrator read in full, entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA IN Res. #7999 SUPPORT OF THE AZUSA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT HEADSTART supporting PROGRAM. Headstart Program Moved by Mayor Moses, seconded by Councilman Cook that resolution be adopted. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA Res. #8000 APPROVING THAT CERTAIN AGREEMENT ENTITLED "AGREEMENT Agmt w/Edison FOR POSSESSION OF ELECTRICAL DISTRIBUTION FACILITIES" BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY AND SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON COMPANY. 9. The resignation, for purposes of retirement, of Captain Resignation/ Richard Lara, effective April 19, 1986, was accepted; retirement further that a resolution/plaque be prepared commending R.A. Lara Captain Lara, which will be presented at a later date. 10. Appointment of Keith Ascar as Reserve Police Officer, Appt K. Ascar effective April 16, 1986, was approved. 11. The appointment of Michael O'Toole to the position Appt. M. of Police Officer Trainee, effective April 9, 1986, O'Toole was approved. 12. The resignation of Reserve Police Officer Rebecca Powell, Resign.R. effective March 7, 1986, was accepted. Powell 13. Moved by Councilman Latta, seconded by Councilman Cook and unanimously carried by roll call to waive further reading and adopt.
