The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above date and time in the Civic Auditorium. Mayor Moses called the meeting to order and led in the salute to the Flag. INVOCATION was given by Reverend Robert Flagg of the First Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Peggy Martinez introduced Sister City Youth Exchange students and chaperones as well as host families to the Council., The Council, as a Body, presented gifts to the students and chaperones from Zacatecas. The CONSENT CALENDAR consisting of Items 1 through 27 was approved by motion of Councilman Latta, seconded by Councilman Cook and unanimously carried by roll call vote*A with the exception of Items F-9 and F-18, which were approved as amended; Items F-10 and F-12 were removed from the Agenda; and Items F-13 and F-14 were considered under the SPECIAL CALL portion of the Agenda. 1. Minutes of the regular meeting of June 16th and the adjourned regular meetings of June 24th and 25th, 1986 were approved as written. 2. Claim v. City by Raul Quintero for alleged injuries sustained when arrested on February 28, 1986, was denied and referred to City's Claims Administrator. 3. Claims v. City by Hector S. The City Clerk read the affidavit of proof of publication of notice of said Hearing published in the Azusa Herald on June 25, 1986, as well as the affidavit of posting said property on June 27, 1986. Testimony was solicited and received for and against the zone change. Staff reports were available for Council perusal. Moved by Councilman Cook, seconded by Councilwoman Avila and unanimously carried by roll call* to close the Hearing. Moved by Mayor Moses, seconded by Councilwoman Avila and carried by roll call* to continue action on the proposed zone change to the next meeting. Councilman Cook dissenting. Mayor Moses ved by Mayor Moses, seconded by Councilwoman Avila to op all proceedings with regard to the zone change and continue matter for two weeks. City Discussion on Administrator apprised Council that a study was now being st. sweeping made regarding comparison costs of contracting for street sweeping or purchasing a new sweeper.
