MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL
REGULAR MEETING
OCTOBER 6, 1986 - 7:30 P.M.
The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session
at the above date and time in the Civic Auditorium.
Mayor Moses called the meeting to order and led in the Call to order
salute to the Flag.
INVOCATION was given by Reverend Robert Flagg of the First Invocation
Presbyterian Church.

authorized. The City Clerk was directed to return
unsuccessful bidders' guarantees. Four bids were
received and opened in the City Clerk's Office on
September 28, 1986.
15. Plans and specifications for Project No. 709, street
improvements for Dalton Avenue, 8th Street and Santa
Fe Avenue were approved and the City Clerk was directed
to advertise for bids.
' 16. Appointment of Debbie Woodson to the position of
Administrative Clerk I, effective October 14, 1986,
was approved contingent upon successful completion
of a physical examination.
17. Contract for Project Numbers 711 and 712, resurfacing
portions of First Street and Citrus Avenue, was awarded
to Sully -Miller Contracting Co., low bidder, in the
amount of $152,403.50, and its execution authorized.
The City Clerk was directed to return unsuccessful
bidder's guarantee. Two bids were received and opened
in the City Clerk's Office on September 8, 1986.
Further budget transfers for this project were also
approved.

acre rather than 24; further directing the City Attorney
to prepare the necessary documents effecting said change.

Testimony was then solicited with regard to the Public No testimony
Hearing on the General Plan Amendment that was also on GPA 86-4
deferred. None was received, however, staff reports were
available for Council perusal.

Moved by Mayor Moses, seconded by Councilwoman Avila and
unanimously carried by roll call* to approve General Plan
Amendment No. 86-4, directing the City Attorney to prepare
the necessary document. For the record, Councilman Cook
abstained on the approval of Z-254, portion of the General
Plan Amendment and Councilman Cruz abstained from Z-253
of the General Plan Amendment.
Richard McLean and Thomas Gotti addressed Council regarding
proposed organization "Concerned Youth Organization" and
requested a letter of recommendation from the Council.

staff for research and report to Council.
