MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL
REGULAR MEETING
NOVEMBER 17, 1986 - 6:30 P.M.
'The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session
at the above date and time in the Civic Auditorium.
Mayor Moses called the meeting to order and led in the
salute to the Flag.
INVOCATION was given by Father David Granadino-M, of the
Saint Frances of Rome Church.

was approved by motion of Councilman Cook, seconded by
Councilman Cruz, and unanimously carried by roll call
vote, with the exception of Items F-3, F-7, F-8, F-10
and F-11, which were considered under the SPECIAL CALL
portion of the Agenda.

Testimony was received from staff, applicant and the public.
Moved by Councilman Cook, seconded by Councilman Latta
and unanimously carried by roll call to close the hearing.
Moved by Councilman Cook, seconded by Mayor Moses and
carried by roll call to adopt staff recommendation to
deny the public nuisance appeal for 324-350 West Foothill
Boulevard and adopt the agreement as an amended Order
of Abatement. Councilman Cruz dissenting. The City
Attorney was directed to prepare the necessary documents.
Moved by Councilman Cook, seconded by Councilwoman Avila
and carried by roll call to adopt staff recommendation
to grant appeal and approve Conditional Use Permit Case
No. C-415, subject to the conditions of approval recommended
in the original staff report, with the exception that
Condition Nos. 4, 5, 9, and 10 be deleted, and an additional
condition be added to read: "All stipulations of the
Amended Agreement regarding Abatement of Public Nuisance
on subject property shall be met within the time frames
listed therein". Councilman Cruz dissenting. The City
Attorney was directed to prepare the necessary documents.
Moved by Mayor Moses that residents being evicted from
their homes be aided by the City. Motion died for the
lack of a second.
SPECIAL CALL ITEMS
Moved by Councilman Latta, seconded by Councilman Cook
and unanimously carried by roll call to waive formal bidding
procedures in the modification and remodelling of work
stations in the Light and Water department, and award
the contract to Info -Com Business Products in the amount
of $22,161.59.
Moved by Mayor Moses, seconded by Councilman Cook and
unanimously carried by roll call to waive formal bidding
procedures and purchase 287 trees from Arbor Nursery in
the amount of $7310.16.

that explanatory descriptions regarding financial condition
of the City be added in the future.

of John Broderick to the position of Police Captain be
approved, effective November 16, 1986.
