The Board of Trustees met 3n regular session at 7;45 P. M
Present at roll call; Barnes, Clark, Roach.
Absent; Case and Collins.
The minutes of April 14th, 1913 were read and approved.
Moved by Barnes, seconded by Clark that the Bids for "tee
sidewalk and Street work for San Gabriel Avenue and Centre
cw..'rin.
Street be ppened, read and publicly declared.
Motion carried.
The bids for San gabriel Avenue from Sperry and Mi-
chielson, M. S. & C. G. Cummings, and C, L. Robinson were
read by the Clerk.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Barnes that the bids for
San Gabriel Avenue be declared closed and referred to the
City Engineer for tabulation, and to be brought in atthe
adjourned meeting Monday, May 5th, 1913 at 7;30 P. M.
Motion carried.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Barnes that the Bids on
Centre Street be read.
Bide were read from Wardell and Wagoner, Sperry amd
i
Micbielson, C. L. Robinson, and LS. S. & C. G. Cummings
on the Contra Street work.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Barnes that the bide on
Centre Street be declared closed and referred,to the City
Engineer for tabulation .
Motion carried.
Mr A. P. Mriffith came before the Board in regard to the
speed ordinance asking that people be compelled to slow �L �
down to eight miles an hour at the crossing at Azusa Avenue
and Centro Street.
_ Mr Henry Smith presented a petition to the Board of -eA
Trustees from the Property Owners of Alameda Avenue asking
the Board to plant and maintain the Cork oak tree on the
said Avenue under the Vrooman Act.
Communication was read from Mrs W. White asking for -LJ t—
Electricity to be extended_to her property on Citrus Avenue. �}

The matter was referred to the Public Works Committee to
be reported on at the next meeting.

Commission asking in regard to the Fourth of July celebration
The communication was, ordered filed.
m 4 LL. J. Coffin came before the Board stating that he wished
0"� $ to erect a building on Alameda Avenue between Centre and
Eighth Street and finds that it is within the fire district
but that the Ordinance establishing the fire district is very
ambiguous and he would like to have the Ordinance changed or
be given a permit to erect a frame building.
The matter was referred to the QitytiAttorheyNandithecCity
Clerk.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Barnes that the Public Works
Committee fix the rate for the rental of the City Hall and
report next meeting.
Motion carried.
Trustee Clark stated that Dr Ball had been to'see him
asking for free use of the hall Tuesday night May, 6th, 1913
for a Public meeting om the proposed Amendment to the Con-
stitution of the State of California.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Barnes that he be given the
hall for $2.50
Motion carried.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Barnes that the proposed
Speed Ordinance be read.
Motion carried.
The Ordinance was read by the Cler, and the City Attorney
ordered to redraft same.
Trustee Clark offered a Resolution and moved its adoptions;
being. "A RESDLUTION GRANTING THE CONTRACT WATER COMPANY A
PERMIT TO LAY A WATER PIPE LINE. UPON A PORTION Or ELEVENTII
STIUMT AND IMPOSIZIG CERTAIN C014DITIOiIS THEREFORE."
The Resolution was read by the Clerk.

neer be instructed to Establish the grades on ninth Street
and Fifth Street.
