HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - May 12, 1913 - CCAzusa, California, Mayl2th,1913. The Board of Trustees met in regular session at 7:30 P.M. Present at roll call; Collins, Barnes, Clark, Case andRoach. The Minutes of May 5th,!; and April 28th,1913 were read and approved. Communication was read from Moon Bros. asking for a permit to maintain a gasoline pump and filter in front of their garage on Centre Street. Moved by Case, seconded by Barnes that the permit be granted. Motion Motion carried, A communication from the First Methodist Episcopal ChurcA, and the Methodist Episcopal Church South was read by the Clerk, asking for the same special rental of the City Hall, that wag granted the Azusa Womans Club a short time ago. Communication was read from the Pomotropic asking permie- eD p °7- cion to submit demands for approval and payments of all Legal Notices, such as Ordinances, Resolutions, Notices ,etc., at the time publication of said notices expires. Moved by Case, seconded by Clark that the matter be ,referred to the Auditing and Finance Committee to report next meeting. Motion carried. Qonununication was read from the Chamber of Commerce asking for the use of the City Hall ,free of charge, on Tuesday night , May 20th, for an open meeting . Moved by Case, seconded by Collins that the request be granted. Motion carried. A representative of the P. L. & P. Co.came before the Board with contracts to be signed regarding the line to be in- stalled on Crest First Street. After some discussion it was decided that the poles should be 50 f6bt I)oles instead of 40, and that the maintainance of the line after the expiration of five years should be paid by the party or parties seeing same. Moved by Clark, seconded by Case that the matter be re- ferred to the City Engineer with instructions to bring inaa Resolution to that effect. Motion carried. Ther City Clerk was instructed to notify the P.L. & P. Co, the time the Resolution would be presented, *52 A petition asking the Board to call a Special Election to vote upon the Pool Room question, was read by the Clerk. i'. D. Streshly name before the Board and asked for one weeks time in which to meet the. partition, ,lt� Moved by Case, seconded by Clank that the City Attorney draw up a Resolution calling for a Special Election on June 24th, 1913, e, y_„ . and ,present the same on Monday May 19th, 1913. Motion carried. President Roach instructed both sides to submit names of Election Officials next Monday night, Mayl9th, 1.913, from which the Board would select the officials for June 24th, 1913. vy -y Gt Mr A. P. An Ordinance being " AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING FIRE LIMITS (PA, WITHIN THE CITY OP AZUSA AND REGULATING THE CONSTRUCTION OF BUILD= INGS WITIIIN SUCH LIMITS.", was read by the Clerk, :Moved by Barnes, seconded by Collins that the Ordinance be declared read for the first time and taken up'for the second:.! reading. Motion carried. The Ordinance was read by the Clerk, Moved by Barnes, seconded by Collins that the Ordinance be declared read for the second time and laid over until next meeting. Moved by Case, seconded by Collins that all bids for i San Gabriel Avenue SideivalY. be rejected and new Bids called for,and new bids received May 26th, 1913, Motion Caried.
