Azusa, California, May 26th, 1913
The Board of Trustees met in regular session at 7:30 P. M.
Present at roll call, Clark, Barnes, Roach.
Absent: Case, and Collins.
j The minutes of May 19th and.?May 12th were read and ap-
proved.
Trustee Case now present.
The Public Works Committee wan instructed to canvass the
City and find where fire valves were needed and have,put on.
Moved by Barnes, seconded by Clark that the bids for the
improvement of Ran Gabriel Avenue be declared, r].a^•=d n^.'
the bids be ppened and publicly declared.
Motion carried.
The bid of Sperry and Michielsen, the only bid printed
was read by the Clerk.
Moved by Clark ,seconded by Bannes.that the bid be
accepted.
Motion carried,
Trustee Clark offered a Resolution and moved its adop-
tion being a. Resolution of Award.

A petition was read from the property owners on San
�„�1- (j--• 'p^ Gabriel. Avenue asking for the .installation of a 6 inch.

Yovo,l by Barnes, seconded by Case that the Speed Ordi-
naace be taken up for the third reading.
Motion carried.
The Ordinance was read by the Clerk.
Moved by Case, seconded by Case that the Ordinance be
adopted .
Moved by Clark, seconded by Barnes that section 4 be
amended to read " That it shall be the duty of every driver
-DUA +^� *-•^f of an automobile," instead of "That it shall be the duty of
every person driving any vehicle drawn by horse:wr horses
and of every driver of an automobile".
Motion carried.

clared,read for the 1st time and be taken up for the second
reading.

Moved by Case, seconded by Barnes that the Ordinance.be,declared
read for the second time and laid over dtptil next rel3ul.ap,
meeting.

Mr A. P. Griffith came before the Board and stated that he
would like to see the fire Ordi{ancc include the territory with-
in Sixth Street on the South, Ninth Street on,the North, pan
Gabriei om the West and Alameda on the 4st, lie also asked that
the mile stone on east Centre Street be replaced,
The Superintendent of Streete was instructed to have the miles
stone reset.
the Public Works Committee was instructed to look after the
printing of signs to conform to the reading of the new speed
Ordinance.

The public Works Committee was instructed to see that an mo-• 4^ R
iron guard was placed in front of the fountain on Centre Street
to keep the wagons from breaking the stone.
Moved by Cse, seconded by Barnes that the City Attorney

draw up a Resolution appointing C. L. Gauldin as night-watchman�,�� u
at a salary of $75.00 per month.
Iiotion carried,
Trustee Case offered a Resolution and moved its adopt Don,
being A Resolution, creating the office of night -watchman and
appointing a night-watchman.

The Clerk was instructed to communicate with Mr B. K.
Pierce regarding the taxes of last year for the Baptist Church.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Case that the followmng demands
be allowed and warrants drawn for the Same.
