The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa met in regular i meeting at 7:15 P.M. n Presebt;,at-roll call; Collins, Barnes, Clark ,Case and, _rz pi Roach. The minutes of October 27th,1913 were read and approved, President Roach stated that Mr J.C.Stick wished to know if he was to continue in the case of Antgnio Samaron that was i 1 appealed from the recorders court. Moved by Case ,seconded by Clark that the City Clerk,:; notify Mr Stick that he is supposed to take care of the case on appeal. Motion carried. i City Attorney Glover recommended to the Board that the bid of;1.H.Jones on the sidewalk on West Centre Street be accepted, Trustee Case offered a Resolution and moved its Adoption being a "RESOLUTION OFTHE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA ,ADOPTING PLANS, PROFILES, AND CHOSSaSECTIONS NUMBERED E� B 16, AND SPECIAL SPECIFICATIONS "J", AND "K", FOR THE IM- PROVEMENT OF CE14THE STREET FROM THE WEST CURB LINE OF ANGELENO AVENUE TO THE EASTERLY LINE OF THE ATCHISON, TOPEKA PtAND SANTA FE RAILWAY COMPANY (COAST LINES)." Motion carried, Trustee Collins offered aResolution and moved its adoption being " A RESOLUTION OF AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR THE CONSTRUCTQOY OF A CONCRETE BRIDGE ON FIRST STREET BETWEEN PASADENA AVENUE AND AZUSA AVENUE." The Resolution was read by the Clerk. The Resolution was seconded by Barnes, Roll Call :Ayes; Collins, Barnes, Clark, Case and Roach, Noes; None, Absent; None. Charles Bender came before the Board to show cause why r�,'hie pool -room license should not be revoked, stating that he knew of no cause Syr revoking his license. O He was told that it was reported that at a recent fight which was supposed to have taken place to his pool -room ,.he tried to shield the fighters and did not aid the officers in their investigation of.same. He was informed by President.Roach that when any trouble arises within his place of business that he should immediate- ly notify the officers and assist them in any way what ever to step the same. He was also informed that no action would be taken and was dismissed. Moved by C611ins, seconded by Class that the City Marshal notify all the keepers of pool -rooms in the City of Azusa to keep windows and doors free from any frosting that any one can see into their place of business at all times. Motion carried. , Trustee Clark stated that the .Trustees of the Presbyterian Church would like to remove some. pepper trees on Soldano Avenue. Moved by Clark„ seconded by Barnes that the permission be granted the Presbyterian Chur". Motion carried. A.J.Clark asked permission to remove two dead trees from Ninth Street and Pasadena Avenue. Moved by Barnes, seconded by Collins that Mr Clark be given permission to remove trees. Motion carried. The repairing of the valve on the corner of Azusa Avenue and Center Street was referred to the Public Works Committee with power to act. Moved by Case, seconded by Collins that the City Attorney prepare a Resolution proceeding with the tree planting on Sixth Street and on San Gabriel Avenue. Motion carried. Moved by Collins,seconded by Clark that the grade Ordinance , being "AN ORDINA14CE TO ESTABLISH THE GRADES UPON CERTAIN STREETS IN THE CITY OF AZUSA," be taken up for the first reading. Motion carried. The Ordinance was read by the Clark. Moved by Collins, seconded by Barnes that the Ordinance be declared read for the first time and takeh up for fof the second time. Motion carried. The Ordinance was read by the Clerk. Moved by Barnes, seconded by Collins, that theOrdinance be declared read for the second time and laid over until next meeting.
