MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL
ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 8,1999 -6:30 P.M.
The City Council of the City of Azusa met for a Workshop on the Riverfront Planning Group
and CIP Budget, at the above date and time at Azusa Light and Water Department, 729 N.
Azusa Avenue.
Mayor Madrid called the meeting to order.

City Manager Cole, Police Captain Pihlak, Community Development Director Bruckner,
Associate Directors of Recreation and Parks Jacobs, Economic/Redevelopment Director
Andrews, Electric Operations Manager Ramirez, Water Superintendent Bowcock, Assistant
City Manager Craig, City Engineer Abbaszadeh, Finance Director Medina, Accounting
Services Supervisor Brisco, City Librarian Maghsoudi, , Deputy City Clerk Toscano.

Also Present
Presentation of the San Gabriel River Scoping Report was made by the San Gabriel River SG River
Planning Group. Scoping Rpt
Moved by Councilmember Stanford, seconded by Mayor Madrid and unanimously carried Rpt received
to receive and file the San Gabriel River Scoping Report submitted by the San Gabriel & filed
Riverfront Planning Group, and that staff participate with County of Los Angeles Master
Plan of the San Gabriel River, to fold Group into the General Plan process, and to fully
support Councilmember Hardison to be an appointee to the San Gabriel River Conservancy.
Discussion was held regarding the Capital Improvement Program for the fiscal years 1999- Discussion
2000 through 2003-2004. The proposed projects were in the following areas: Parks & CIP
Open Spaces, Circulation, Public Safety, Culture & Community Services, Technology,
Community Design, Public Works, Major Equipment and Utilities. Councilmembers
provided feedback and recommendations to staff.
It was consensus to recess to Closed Session to discuss the following:
CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL - EXISTING LITIGATION (Gov. Code
See. 54956.9 (a)l. McCurdy v. City of Azusa, et. al., Case No. 99CO2938, Los Angeles
Municipal Court.
There was no reportable action taken in Closed Session.
It was consensus of Councilmembers to adjourn.
