The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa met in regular
session at 7:15 P.M.
Present at roll call; Collins, Barnes,;Clark and Roach.
Absent; Case.
The minutes of December 22nd,1913, January 3rd,1914 and
January bth,1914 were read and approved.
Trustee Case now present.
Communication was read from the Public Ownership Assn.
The matter was referred to the Public Wnrks Committee to
report later.
Communication was read from the League of California
Municipalities asking for the Annual Dues.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Barnes that the Membership
in the League be continued and a warrant drawn for the dues.
Roll call; Ayes; Collins, Barnes, Clark, Case and Roach.
Noes; None.
Absent; None.
Communication was read from the Azusa Wamane Club asking
that the City help,LhBm in putting in a lawn in front of
their Club House.
The matter was referred to the Public Works Committee.
Engineer Glerlich made a report on the Planting of trees
on Sixth Street, and San Gabriel Avenue. .
Moved by Collins, seconded by Barnes that the report be.
returned to the City Engineer to be revised. (s_ r �:ye +_�)
Motion carried.
Mr Maurice Jones came vefore the Board asking premis-
sion to puvchass some shade trees to by placed in the lawn
in the park.
Moved by Collins, seconded by Barnes that the matter be
rederred to the Public Works Committee.
Motion carried.
Mr D.J.Rittenhouse was before the Board wanting to
lease the City's land North of the old City reservoir.
Moired by Barnes, seconded bjc Collins that the matter be
referred to the Public Works Committee.with power to act.

being "AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD.OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA ESTABLISHING THE GRADE OD AZUSA AVENUE FROM SIERRA
MADRE AVENUE TO THE SOUTH BOUNDARY DINS OF SAID CITY OF
AZUSA", be taken up for the third reading and put on its
final passage.

Marshal Granville stated that the City would have to have
some new speed signs to conform to the reading of the new
Speed law and stated that it would be cheaper for the City to
.bj purchase some stencils.
Moved by Case, seconded by Barnes that the Stencils be

declared read for the first time and taken up for the second
reading.

Moved by Collins, seconded by Barnes that the Ordinance
be declared read for the second time and laid over until the
next meeting.
