HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - July 11, 2001 - CCCITY OF AZUSA ' MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL ADJOURNED/SPECIAL MEETING WEDNESDAY, JULY 11, 2001 - 6:40 P.M. The City Council of the City of Azusa met in Adjourned session, at the above date and time in the Azusa Library Conference Room, located at 740 N. Dalton Avenue, Azusa, California. Mayor Madrid called the meeting to order. Call to Order ROLL CALL Roll Call PRESENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: STANFORD, CHAGNON, MADRID ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: HARDISON, ROCHA ALSO PRESENT: Also Present City Manager Cole, Community Development Director Bruckner, Assistant Community Development Director Onaga, Project Manager Brownfield, , City Clerk Mendoza, Deputy City Clerk Toscano. Members of the Planning Commission were also in attendance as follows: Burke Hamilton, Alberto Prado, Stacey Kent an Don Flowers. Moved by Councilmember Stanford, seconded by Mayor Madrid and unanimously* carried that Agmt w/E.J. the Consulting Services Agreement with E.J. De La Rosa & Company, Inc., be approved. This is De La Rosa & a substitution of a financial advisor for the proposed new Library. Co, Inc. Joint Workshop/Discussion with the Azusa Planning Commission on the Housing Element. Ms. Workshop Karen Varner and Lori Pete of Cotton -Bridges Associates provided a presentation on Housing Housing Ele Element Background, Summary of Housing Needs, Sites for Future Development, Existing K. Varner & Housing Programs and Potential Housing Programs. It was consensus of Councilmember that L. Pete staff proceed with draft Housing Element as presented, for State review. Councilmember Hardison entered the meeting at 8:00 p.m. Discussion was held regarding Hardison ent current vacancies on City Boards and Commissions. It was consensus of Councilmembers that mtg Mr. Mark Ades be appointed to the Cultural and Historical Landmark Commission and that Olga Dis re: Gonzales be appointed to Architectural Barriers Commission. Since the vacancy on the Planning Vacancies Commission was due to expire in September of this year, it will be considered along with annual Brds & Com Board and Commission appointment process. Discussion was held regarding the Human Relations Commission application and the City Clerk Dis re: Hum and Assistant City Clerk were directed to create a draft application and submit to Rel appl Clk Councilmembers for their input. to create draft It was consensus of Councilmembers to adjourn.
