The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa met in regular
session at 7:15 P.M.
Pbesent at roll call; Collins, Barnes, Clark, Case and
Roach.
The minutes of February 24th ,1914 were read and approved.

The acceptance of the Pacific Electric Railway Company

of the franchise granted them on Ninth Street was read.
City Engineer Gierlich reported in regard to the water
grainage on Pasadena Avenue, Soldano Avenue and Alameda Avenue.
Moved by Collins, seconded by Barnes that the bids on �a(d
the cement sidewalk and curb on Fifth Street be opened,•
read and publicly declared.

Moved by Case, seconded by Collins that the bids be
referred to the City Engineer to check up and report at as
adjourned meeting Monday night, March 16th,1914.
Motion carried.
A petition was read from the property owners of Alameda
Avenue asking that the City plant some tree aside from the
Cork Tree on Alameda Avenue. pwvµ
Moved by Collins, seconded by Barnes that the petition
be received and referred to the City Engineer to check up the
frontage and report next meeting.

Moved by Case, seconded by Collins that the Clerk notify �,fl
the Pacific Light and Power Corp, that the check of2% of the
earnings from the pumping plant inside the City limits is

now past due and must be paid at once.

Moved by Case, seconded by Barnes: that. teller's'be -ap=
pointed to canvass the Election returns of the Bond Election
held March 3,1914.

President Roach appointed Trustees Collins and Clark
as tellers.
The tellers reported 700 ballots issued,
390 ballots cast,
1 ballot destroyed ,
309 ballots returned unused.
700 total.
The vote of Proposition NO ly 262 votes yes,
118 votes No.
The vote of Porposttion NO 2,6- 273 votes Yes,
88 votes NO.
Trustee Case offered a Resolution and moved its adop-
tion being "A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEEH OF THE
U- CITY OF AZUSA, DECLARING THE RESULT OF TIM SPECIAL ELEC-
TION HELD IN THE CITY OF AZUSA ON THE 3rd DAY OF MARCH,
1914, AS PROVIDED FOR IN ORDINANCE NO 152, OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA."

forty years.

Superintendent Thompson stated that two new transformers Y
would have to be installed at the Azusa Citrus Assn Pacging _,b,,

House, and that the City could borrow two transformers until ov�
the new system was installed, but that they would have to buy
a large meter.
Moved by Case, seconded by Clark $fat the transformers
be borrowed and the meter purchaded and installed. The Azusa
Citrus Assn to pay for the work of installing.

Moved by Case, seconded by Clark that the City Clerk notify
Mr MacNeil that the City wants the land originally asked for p gyp, 9
for pumping purposes and will not accept an agreement limit -(V � fLP
ing the amount of water to be pumped, also that we must have
the land and if necessary will have to condemn.
Motion carried,
Superintendent Granville stated that after cleaning out
the wash on Pasadena Avenue he had quite a lot of good build-
ing sand which he thought he could sell at 15¢ a wagon load.
Moved by Case, seconded by Barnes that Mr Granville
accept 15je a wagon load for the sand.
Motion carried.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Collins, that the following
demands be allowed and warrants. drawn for the same.

The Public Works Committee was instructed
to see the
Azusa Ice and Cold Storage Company regarding their overflow
water running down Pasadena Avenue.
Moved by Case, seconded by Collins that the meeting
adjourn until Monday night March 16th,1914, at 7:00 P.M.
