MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL
AND THE AZUSA REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY, JUNE 30, 2003 - 6:30 P.M.
The City Council of the City of Azusa met In Adjourned Regular session, at the above date and
time in the Azusa Civic Auditorium located at 213 East Foothill Boulevard, Azusa, California.
Mayor/Chairperson Madrid called the meeting to order.

PRESENT: COUNCILMEMBERS/DIRECTORS: HARDISON, STANFORD, CHAGNON,
MADRID
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS/DIRECTORS: ROCHA
ALSO PRESENT:
City Manager/Executive Director Cole, Economic/Redevelopment Director Hennessey, Downtown
Project Manager Ruiz, City Clerk/Secretary Mendoza, Deputy City Clerk/Deputy Secretary Toscano.

JOINT PUBLIC HEARING on Proposed Amendment to the Redevelopment Plans for the Merged Jnt Pub Hrg
Central Business District and West End Redevelopment Projects and Concurrent Pubic Hearing on Plan Amend
Proposed Amendment to the Implementation Plan for the Projects.
The Mayor/Chairperson declared the Hearing open. City Clerk read the affidavit of proof of Hrg open
publication of said public hearing published in the San Gabriel Tribune on June Vh 12`h 19" and
on June 261° a notice was published to continue the meeting to July 8th.
Moved by Councilmember/Director Chagnon, seconded by Councilmember/Director Stanford and PH con't
unanimously carried to continue the Joint Public Hearing to the meeting of July 8, 2003, at 7:30 To 7/8/03
p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard.
Councilmember/Director Stanford announced that the City of Los Angeles is making a request to Stanford
lease EI Toro and the City of EI Segundo has asked other cities if they would Join in supporting the Comments
request. He asked that this item be placed on the agenda for the next regular Council meeting
and Councilmembers present concurred.
Councilmember/Director Hardison requested that staff investigate to see what's in place in the Hardison .
' *Azusa Municipal Code to prevent illegal fireworks, i.e. fines, etc. He also stated that there has Comments
�',en confusion between the Community Calendar versus the Council Calendar and that they don't
incide. He asked that staff look into this problem.
It was consensus of Councilmembers/Boardmembers to adjourn.
