HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - September 29, 2004 - CC' CITY OF AZUSA MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 2004 - 6:30 P.M. The City Council of the City of Azusa met in Special session, at the above date and time at the Azusa Light and Water Conference Room located at 729 North Azusa Avenue, Azusa, California. Call to Order Mayor Pro -Tem Stanford called the meeting to order. ROLL CALL Roll Call PRESENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: HARDISON, STANFORD, ROCHA,CHAGNON ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: MADRID ALSO PRESENT: Also Present City Clerk Mendoza, Senior Office Specialist Hernandez. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION Pub Part None. None Councilmembers and staff reviewed the applications submitted to be considered for Review applications appointment to the various Boards and Commissions. Councilmembers began the interview process at 6:30 p.m. and all applicants were in attendance as scheduled. Conduct interviews interview process concluded at 8:00 p.m. Council reconvened with staff and suggested the appointment of the following to the various Boards and Commissions: Appointments Appoint Madelyn Payne to the Library Commission, 1" term. Re -appoint Leslie Dierking to the Personnel Board, 2ntl term. Appoint John Dierking to the Planning Commission, 1" term. Appoint Rossana Helbert to the Park and Recreation Commission, 1" term. Appoint Paul Naccachian to the Human Relations Commission, 1" term. Appoint Dave Potter to the Library Commission, 1s` term. Appoint Debbie Kindred to the Cultural and Historical Preservation Commission, 1" term. Appoint Christina Valdez to the Human Relations Commission, 1" term. Re -appoint Carlos Udria to the Park & Recreation Commission, 2ntl term. Councilmembers suggested that staff look in to the feasibility of down sizing the Cultural nd Historical Preservation Commission from 7 to 5 members. Further, they suggested That Mr. Don Flowers, outgoing Planning Commissioner, remain on the Commission until Discussion he Development Code has been approved by the Planning Commission; following that, Mr. John Dierking will take his position.
