HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - June 13, 2005 - CCCITY OF AZUSA MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE AZUSA CITY COUNCIL MONDAY, JUNE 13, 2005 - 6:30 P.M. The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session, at the above date and time, in the Azusa Light and Water Department Conference Room, located at 729 N. Azusa Avenue, Azusa, California. Mayor Chagnon called the meeting to order. Call to Order ROLL CALL Roll Call PRESENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: HARDISON, CARRILLO, ROCHA, HANKS, CHAGNON ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE ALSO PRESENT: Also Present ty Manager Delach, Assistant City Manager Person, Director of Utilities Hsu, Assistant Director Utilities Kalscheuer, Director of Recreation and Family Services Jacobs, City Treasurer Hamilton, terim Chief of Police Garcia, Economic Development Director Hightower, Senior Accountant edevelopment) Jara, Director of Human Resources Hanson, Director of Information Systems Graf -Gaynor, Library Director Tovar, Director of Public Works Nakasone, City Clerk Mendoza, Acting Deputy City Clerk Hernandez. Public Participation Pub Part Mr. Jeffrey Cornejo, Chairman of the Cultural & Historical Preservation Commission addressed J. Cornejo Council presenting a historical photograph of Foothill Boulevard noting that there is a need to Cult ii, Hist document the history of Azusa. He presented a budget proposal for the 2005-06 budget and Pres Com requested that a City Staff employee be assigned to work with the Commission on a temporary or Comments part-time basis to photograph and document locations/properties within the City in order to create an accurate history of the City's past. WORKSHOP ON BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2005-2006 City Manager Delach addressed Council and introduced Interim Finance Director Jose Sanchez Workshop on who he advised would be assisting with the 2005-06 Budget. He then presented the preliminary City Budget budget which included department summaries, which he called Phase 1 of the budget, but advised 05-06 that the budget is being refined and detail will be presented at the next budget session. e following presented budget summaries, proposed project work plan and answered questions Dept Budget posed by Councilmembers: Assistant City Manager Person — Administration, City Clerk Presentations Mendoza — City Clerk, Economic Development Director Hightower — Community Development, Assistant City Manager — Finance Department, Director of Human Resources — Human Resources, Director of Information Systems Graf -Gaynor- IT Department, Library Director Tovar — City Library, (Light and Water was approved at Utility Board Meeting),and Interim Chief of Police Garcia — Public Safety. The City Council recessed at 8:06 p.m. and reconvened at 8:18 p.m. Recess/Rec Director of Public Works Nakasone presented Public Works budget, Director of Recreation and Dept Budget Family Services Jacobs presented its budget, and Assistant City Manager Person presented the Continued budget for Azusa public Financing Authority. Councilmember Rocha requested that the yard sale permits be reduced from $20 to $15. Rocha Comments It was consensus of Council to adjourn. TIME OF ADJOURNMENT: 8:43 P.M.
