MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL
SPECIAL MEETING
MONDAY, JULY 23, 2012 - 7:35 P.M.
The City Council of the City of Azusa met in special session at the above date and time in the Azusa
Light and Water Conference Room located at 729 N. Azusa Avenue, Azusa, California, 91702.
Mayor Rocha Called the Meeting to order.

City Attorney Ferre, City Attorney Crawford, City Manager Makshanoff, Director of Public
Works/Assistant City Manager Haes, Police Captain Momot, City Clerk Mendoza, Administrative
Technician Hernandez.
PUBLIC PARTICIPATION Pub Part
Mr. Mike Lee addressed the meeting thanking the Azusa Police Officers Association for coming to an M. Lee
agreement on the negotiations of their MOU. Comments
Mr. Art Morales addressed the meeting requesting microphones be provided to the public who address A. Morales
meetings, and that items be placed under schedule portion of the agenda in order to allow the public to Comments
participate in the discussion; congratulated Council for conducting the meetings smoothly, and suggested
an appreciation day for Police Department and thanked them for their good work.
Councilmember Macias responded that in November there is a first responders appreciation lunch held at Macias
the Knights of Columbus. Comments
The CONSENT CALENDAR consisting of Items C-1 through C-4, was approved by motion of Consent
Councilmember Carrillo, seconded by Councilmember Gonzales, and *unanimously carried, with the Calendar
exception of item C-3, which was pulled to the special call portion of the agenda. C-3 Spec Call

BLANKET PURCHASE ORDERS OVER $10,000 FY 2012-13 - CITY & SUCCESSOR AGENCY. Blanket
Purchase
City Manager Makshanoff addressed the item stating that certain purchase orders were inadvertently Orders
omitted at the time the agenda was posted. Staff answered questions from Council regarding the omitted
items.
Moved by Mayor Pro -tem Carrillo, seconded by Councilmeber Gonzales, and *unanimously carried, to
approve the issuance of Blanket Purchase Orders in an amount of $10,000 or more, detailed on the
revised schedule, in accordance with Sections 2-523 and 2-524, under Article VII, Bidding and
Contracting, of the Azusa Municipal Code.

The City Council reconvened at 8:00 p.m.; City Attorney Crawford advised that item No. 2 of closed Item 2
session was removed from the agenda; on items 1 and 3 there was no reportable action taken in Closed Removed
Session.
It was consensus of Council to adjourn.
